If you would like to book a commission with me, then I keep things very simple. Scroll down for options to get in touch or have a little read through about the process below. I genuinely look forward to hearing from you and capturing your wonderful pet on canvas.

I believe that the more options there are on various sizes, frames, mediums and price, the more confusing the whole process will get for you.

I want this to be a thoroughly enjoyable purchase as this is an exciting and luxury investment that you or the recipient will own, cherish and love for many, many years to come.

To begin work, I will require some good reference pictures, which I will be able to advise with. Sometimes we are in the sad situation where your beloved pet has passed so there are limited photos. It’s not impossible and I will be very honest with you as to whether or not I will still be able to work with the photos. I will then help you to decide the best composition for your painting before work proceeds.

pet portrait commission

In the first instance, it’s best to get in touch and secure a date. I sometimes get incredibly booked up, especially around holidays and I have to close my books for a few months and start a waiting list.

But if you have paid a deposit and secured a date, you are guaranteed your portrait within that time frame, and your deposit is returnable up and until I begin work.

All of the materials I use are archival, lightfast and of the highest artist quality. This means that in the right conditions (a painting should never be hung in full sunlight) your portrait will last for generations to come and look as vibrant as the day it was handed to you.

My standard pet portrait size is 11.5 x 16.5 inches and is priced at £375, which is locked in upon receipt of your deposit. This is then placed in a mount that overall is 20 x 16″. I allow one week for each portrait, hence why it is really important to get booked in. This price includes postage within the UK.

I believe that this is the best minimum size for a portrait, any smaller and a lot of detail is lost. If a larger portrait is required then I am happy to discuss your requirements, but I offer this size as standard as it is the most popular choice and is a good size for a standard wall.

I accept a £100 deposit upfront (payable via Paypal or bank transfer) to secure your booking, with the full amount to be paid on completion. I am also happy to take payment via installments – just give me a nudge to discuss your requirements.

I will guarantee you a completion date and will update you with progress as your painting unfolds. Your painting will then be either hand delivered (depending on your location) or securely mailed to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery service. I do ship world wide with Transglobal, R.O.W prices differ depending on your location.

I love working on pet portraits because, as a pet owner myself of a beautiful greyhound, I know what an important part of the family they truly are. I aim to capture their personality and little quirks within each one that I do, because anyone can paint a dog, but can they paint your dog?
