The basics of using instagram for your art business

In this video I will walk you through the basics of using Instagram for your art business, it’s not difficult, so don’t panic – and once you start using it a few times, it will become second nature.

I’ll show you how to create a basic post, what the Instagram feed is all about, how you can find people to follow, plus a brief look at how you can monitor some statistics to see how your posts are performing.

Please note that there are a couple of places where I inadvertently cover the mic while I am typing, which means there is no sound. I know, genius right?🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

What I did miss out, is how to like others peoples posts and comment – so I’ve included this below in some screen shots for you.

So here you can see a screenshot of my Instagram feed and a post that I would like to like and comment on. If I just want to like it, I can click the heart button, but if I want to leave a comment, I need to click on the speech bubble and this will open up a space for me to type and leave a comment.

Once I have typed my comment, I just hit send and this will now appear underneath their pic. They will also receive a notification to say that I have left a comment, so they can respond if they wish to do so.

This was a quick, off the cuff video, so I haven’t gone into huge details and I haven’t covered everything in its entirety. So, if you have any questions – do feel free to give me a nudge.
